Objective

Experience

In line with the objectives of Progetto Erasmus+ AZIONE KA 122-SCH – L.I.F.E. we took part to a course organized by PMS Erasmus+ regarding CLIL methodology.

After the morning lessons we took part to various informal moments, to discover the land that hosted us, Iceland, and to enhance relationships with the other colleagues that came from all over Europe.

The course focussed on increasing CLIL competences, in particular:

• Getting approached to CLIL
• Motivation techniques and scaffolding.
• Listening and phonics in class.
• Communicative activities. Importance of the context in the learning process.

Safnahúsið / The House of Collections (course location)

The morning lessons had a dynamic approach and practical activity following the CLIL methodology: this allowed employing different techniques inside the classroom. It was stimulating and fun.

The teacher always gave us a lot of information and instruments for the application of the methodology and useful advice thanks to her practical work in classroom.

The teacher provided us with best practices about the new technology to be applied in class. The activities were the starting point for discussions, comparing different views among the participants of the international group.   

The extra activities and the discovering of the surroundings were a very good opportunity to get to know each other better and share our work experience.

As for the rest… pure beauty: glaciers, geysers, lagoons, falls, beaches, rocks, vulcanos, fiords and lava plateaus are only a part of the scenery, together with seals, whales, puffins. Lights at midnight in summer and the northern lights in winter and stories of vikings, monsters and elves create a world of suggestions blending science, mystery and magic!
