The course named “CLIL in Practice: Focus on Ireland – Dublin”, has been provided by Teacher Academy and it takes into account several methodologies applicable at CLIL.

The course was based on active theoretical and practical lessons, focused on: 

• introduction to CLIL methodologies
• scaffolding 
• planning practical CLIL tasks
• devising CLIL materials for introducing new topics
• applying key CLIL methodologies

Every day, every activity or experience was duly reported on a “diary”.

Visits at Ireland National Gallery and Epic Museum were very interesting and useful :  we spent two days in!

The experience  gave us a lot of tips to think about. We learned to plan lessons both in “soft CLIL” and in “heavy CLIL” and we learned how to use them, even  in the first two years of  Secondary School . Considering our low level of confidence with these methodologies, we found these new ideas very useful.

The course was organised in small groups, just 6 people, coming from all over  Europe. That gave us the opportunity to talk to each other in English, comparing our different “school culture” and sharing our teaching experiences.
