L.I.F.E. project
Description
Project’s objectives:
Increasing educational success and decreasing early school leaving
The analysis of the results carried out and included in our RAV, shows how our school is generally more selective than other schools in our province or even in our region, especially when it comes to students of the first year.
We feel therefore the need to support our students to overcome their difficulties, also those related to disabilities, or to cultural, social, economical differences, in order to improve their autonomy and self-esteem.
Increase the CLIL skills of teachers in our institute
Few teachers in our institute are certified for CLIL, although there is scientific evidence that this methodology, in addition to enhancing language proficiency, promotes learning in any nonlanguage subject.
While being we are aware that taking part in a training course with content inherent to acquiring or improving CLIL methodologies would not be a sufficient requirement to call oneself a CLIL-certified teacher, we are convinced that in many teachers it could trigger the necessary motivation to achieve the indispensable certification, not to mention those who would receive the spur to begin experimenting with CLIL teaching in some modules of their discipline without feeling professionally and emotionally inadequate.
Develop active citizenship skills, European citizenship and sustainable development
Of extreme topical interest is the need to develop active citizenship skills in a European dimension throughout the school community to enable students to feel both Italian and European citizens.
Participation in training courses will lay the foundations for implementing a network of exchanges in order to implement teaching strategies aimed at fostering intercultural dialogue among young people, with particular reference to civic, social and inclusiveness issues.Increase the digital skills of all staff and students
The distance learning mode, which became necessary due to the Covid-19 pandemic, has “forced” school staff to acquire some digital knowledge that they did not have before, sometimes too quickly and in an inadequately structured manner, as it was linked to the contingent need to continue doing school. At the same time, distant learning revealed a lack of real digital skills on the part of teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as widespread difficulties on the part of students in the conscious, critical and responsible use of e-learning platforms.
It is therefore extremely important to activate courses linked to the National Digital School Plan and the Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027.
